What are the benefits of Blockbuster?
One of the major benefits of Blockbuster is that customers with an unlimited plan can rent movies through a kiosk, or through a Blockbuster outlet, or they can watch movies online using streaming or download options through the company’s website.
This variety of options is not available through other online rental companies. Blockbuster also offers subscription services, video game rental, and a loyalty program for regular customers.
Blockbuster offers a free trial to allow customers to sample the program before committing to a membership.
Memberships to rent movies online vary in cost based on the number of movies rented at one time as well as on whether they are a basic or unlimited membership.
Blockbuster does not charge late fees or assign due dates to rented movies, and with the unlimited membership, movies can be exchanged via mail or at a convenient brick and mortar outlet.
There is no extra charge for renting BluRay discs.
What are the additional viewing options at Blockbuster?
Blockbuster also provides a download option when you rent movies online. These downloads are subject to a download fee, as well as a time limit. The movies must be viewed within thirty days, and then expire 24 hours after playback begins.
Downloads can be viewed on a Blockbuster on Demand device such as an Internet-capable TV or DVD player, or a TiVo DVR. Other devices, such as cell phones and other portable devices, are also supported.
Customers who prefer to own rather than rent movies online can also purchase movie downloads, as well as downloads of individual episode of popular TV shoes.
Downloads vary in price, and can be viewed on a PC or on a Blockbuster on Demand device. However, downloads are not Mac compatible, and require use of Internet Explorer or an IE tab extension installed to a Firefox browser.
