The days of the age old video store are coming to an end. With the advent of Netflix, the landscape of movie rentals has changed and changed dramatically. Today, you can rent movies online and eliminate all the hassles and costs associated with the traditional rental methods.
And, in addition to Netflix, there are two other companies that have entered the arena: Blockbuster and LoveFilm. But, out of all these three companies, which company would be the best to rent movies from? Let’s take a look at each and examine their merits.
Netflix
This company was the originator and innovator of the concept to rent movies online. It originally started as a small business and expanded into a multibillion dollar success story. Without a doubt, this remains probably the best of all the online rental companies since it is inexpensive and offers tens of thousands of DVDs for rent. Really, you can’t top a selection such as that!
Blockbuster
Blockbuster entered into the business to rent movies online somewhat reluctantly. It had been a “brick and mortar” business for years but declining sales led to it being forced into offering their consumers the ability to rent movies online. That said, the price is right and the customer service excellent. However, it only offers an inventory of 40,000 different titles which means it lacks the selection that Netflix can offer.

LoveFilm
This is a company that only services the United Kingdom and that is something of a shame since it is an excellent company. The prices are right and the customer service is definitely top of the line. So, if you live in the UK, you really cannot go wrong with this company.
So, which is the best service to rent movies online from? Different people will have different experiences, opinions and needs but it is safe to say that Netflix truly is king of the hill as far as online rental companies go. It offers a great service at an affordable price. What more could you ask for in a rental company?
